Tahini is a paste that is made from ground sesame seeds that is common in Middle Eastern cooking. It’s rich in minerals phosphorus, lecithin, magnesium, potassium and iron. It is a great source of calcium, protein, vitamin E, and many B vitamins. It is also rich in unsaturated fat, which is a healthy fat that can reduce risks of heart disease. Tahini also helps in maintaining healthy skin and muscle tone, aiding against anemia, and promote healthy cell growth. It is used in both savory and sweet dishes, and can be added to enhance flavors in dips, marinate, and even vinaigrettes.
