Turmeric Milk Tea

tumeric milk tea

golden turmeric, it’s anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and digestive health benefits

The most active ingredient in turmeric is curcumin. Curcumin provides very strong anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits that protect us against free radicals which can damage our skin or leave us more prone to certain diseases and illnesses. Turmeric milk can be used to reduce menstrual cramps. Oftentimes when women experience menstrual cramps they are prescribed high doses of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, like ibuprofen. Turmeric however works in a similar way by reducing prostaglandins which promote uterine contractions and stimulate pain and inflammation. So turmeric’s ability to decrease prostaglandins allows it to be an effective agent in cramp and pain reduction.

*Due to turmeric’s anti-inflammatory benefits, it can help reduce digestive upset by keeping stomach acids from getting out of hand and reducing heartburn. Turmeric should be consumed in moderation, taking too much can cause adverse effects, and turmeric milk should not be consumed if a woman is facing cramps from labor pain etc.*
