Peanut and Red Chili Dipping Sauce

peanutdip

this rich nutty dip with a hint of both heat and sweetness, is loaded with protein, vitamin E, and potassium

The base of this dip, and majority of the calories, comes from the main ingredient, peanut butter. Peanut butter is a good source of protein, having 4 grams of protein in 1 tbsp. It is recommended to be consumed in moderation being that a 2 tbsp serving, has close to 190 calories, which can be about 10% of your daily recommended intake. Some of the fat found in peanut butter is saturated fat, which is an unhealthy type of fat, but the majority of it is unsaturated fat, which is beneficial towards overall health and can lower risks for heart disease.

Peanut butter is made by grinding up dry roasted peanuts, and oftentimes additives are added like salt, sweeteners, or emulsifiers to modify taste or texture. Oftentimes these additives can increase the amount of saturated fat found in peanut butter, as well as increase nutritional risk. Organic peanut butter is devoid of these additives and is a great option when trying to find the healthiest peanut butter variety. Peanut butter is also a good source of powerful antioxidant vitamin E, as well as muscle-aiding potassium. Serve this flavorful, rich dip alongside fresh vegetables or add to a dish of your choice.
