a simple creamy dressing that’s full of flavor, and healthy monounsaturated fats
A canola or olive oil based mayonnaise does provide more healthy monounsaturated fats in comparison to the regular mayonnaise alternative, but calories are the same. It is important to remember to consume foods that are nutrient-dense to ensure the calories you are consuming are not empty calories but giving your body the fuel it needs. You can completely omit the mayonnaise in this recipe and use 1 cup of greek yogurt if desired. Greek yogurt is full of health benefits, including being a good source of protein, probiotics (beneficial for gut health), B vitamins, calcium, and potassium. A simple recipe that’s perfect over shrimp tacos, in turkey sandwiches, as salad dressing etc.
Creamy Stone Ground Mustard Dressing
½ cup greek yogurt
½ cup olive oil mayonnaise
¼ cup fresh lemon juice
1 tablespoon stone ground mustard
1 teaspoon honey
⅛ teaspoon crack black pepper
Salt to taste
- Add all ingredients to a medium sized bowl and mix together well. Serve over tacos, in salads, and sandwiches. Pair with Alaa’s Pantry Cilantro and Lemon Spiced Shrimp tacos. Enjoy!
