perfectly cooked and blackened jumbo shrimp spiced to perfection
Use this recipe to make Alaa’s Pantry, Blackened Shrimp Tacos with Red Cabbage Slaw and Cilantro Sour Cream Sauce.
Blackened Spiced Shrimp
1 & 1/2 pound, jumbo shrimp peeled and cleaned
1 tbsp garlic infused olive oil
1 tbsp tajin (or any chili lime/chili lemon seasoning)
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp cajun seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp red chili flakes *optional*
salt to taste (do not need a lot because of the tajin)
black pepper to taste
Chopped cilantro to garnish
1. Add cleaned shrimp and all spices in a bowl and mix together well.
2. In a skillet on medium-high heat add a drizzle of oil. When heated lay shrimp down without over crowding the pan. Cook shrimp on one side for 3 minutes, flip and cook the other side for another 3 minutes. Repeat until all shrimp is cooked through.
3. Add to serving bowl, garnish with with fresh cilantro. Serve with tacos, salads etc. Enjoy!
